Who we are

We are a group of people from Europe and the US who were detained or are still detained in Bicutan Immigration Jail. We know exactly how the incidious system of corruption in the Philippine Bureau of Immigration works and how badly it affects its victims.  Some of us have spent years and tens of thousand of Euros to get released.

Despite constant complaints to the media, the embassies and the Philippines Dept of Justice, the situation in Bicutan has not changed in years. The detention center is totaly overcrowded and medical/dental care is practically nonexistent. Detainees have died here due to inadequate medical care and even cancer goes untreated without the detainee paying extortionate bribes.

If the detainee is lucky, he has the privacy of less than two sqm in a rusted bunk bed. Otherwise they must sleep on the floor of a public area which is shared with rats, mice, cockroaches and bed bugs.

The detainees don´t get any support from the Philippine officials. They don´t even get a mattress without paying for it themselves. Even clean drinking water must be paid for
